Just a few of my poems I'm not very good but oh well its just a form of release. Level N Human asked to see some of them and instead of flooding her hobbies thread i thought id post them here. feel free to comment and critique as you see fit. also please dont steal these or post them anywhere else without my permission first. -------------------------------------------------- Insomnia I'm tired But my mind wont rest Chaos ensues Over again Start counting sheep Over and over again But still cant sleep Pain and misery But still wont weep It never does end Over and over again The anxiety will creep Over again Another nightmare to keep -------------------------------------------------- Bitter Sweet Life is a nightmare Death is but a dream I know you don't hear The silence i scream Life is an affliction Death is the cure How much more anguish Do i have to endure Life a prison cell Death is its key From this bitter world Please set me free Life is a journey Death is the destination Oh sweet suicide I feel your temptation Life is bitter Death is sweet Neither an experience I'd want to repeat -------------------------------------------------- Harsh Elements Turn to dust, float away Give into the sway Sink in with the sands That times hourglass commands Stop struggling, just relax You cant impede sorrows tax So drown in misery's ocean Tides of liquid emotion Strike a match, watch it burn Radiating heat which we yearn Reach out and claim Comfort among pain -------------------------------------------------- Figment Of The Mind What is love but a thought in your mind A four letter word meant to be used with kind Left as a convincing lie on letters where its signed A mere figure of speech used by the population To get what they want by means of degradation That cloud nine intoxication is a figment of your imagination What makes you say you know the feeling? When your on the floor in front of them kneeling? All Just to hear those three words its so unappealing! Ah, you didn't have to make a seperate thread. The hobby thread is a free-for-all; stick all the poems or pictures or stories or clips you'd like in it. But if you preferred this, of course that's fine too. And oh man, can I relate to your insomnia poem - counting sheep and all. I've made it to the 3,000s until I got to bored to continue. I've also attempted it it in binary code, but I lost track too quickly. Hehe. I can see you're a fan of freeform. You're right it's a good way for a release, and freeform poetry is the least-restraining. I tried to write a sestina once; it gave me a headache.
Free form is all i know atm but i do want to learn more about structured writing, i only did a year of highschool so i never did learn much about poetry or have a chance to take a writing\poetry class. i tried learning from websites but it got very confusing lol. Thank you.
