I know this looks bad already, but I'm postponing it by a week. The reason for this is, it's my mom's aunt's birthday on the 3rd, and I don't want to quit smoking on someone's special day, I want my "own date" if that makes sense. So the night of 9th January 2017, I will be smoking my last cigarette. Here's hoping I can stick to this resolution. I just HAVE to.

My NYR would be: posting my art more often on dA, to get good grades, to stop procrastinating, watch more anime, read more books, and that's all I could think of.

Bringing this thread back, since we're so close to the new year *eek!*

Well, an update from me: I'm joining the gym on the 6th of January! Looks like I might actually keep my NYR this year!

So I have written up the following, for the record:

    > Start testosterone.
    > Get a visible six-pack.
    > Do 300 hours of ballet.
    > Go vegan from vegetarian.
    > Learn the remaining swim strokes that I do not know - breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly.
    > Cut my 50-free time in half (currently 50 seconds).
    > Read fifty books.
    > Record a 7-song piano music album.
    > Go to college.
    > Rock a bowtie.
    > Do 150 hours of cello practice.

Overthrow my parents in terms of household power. I can't take them controlling me like a baby anymore.

    For me:

Reduce my intake of meat products (for health reasons) and a diet primarily based on fruits and vegetables.

Drink more water and herbal teas.

Start lifting weights and running more.

Go out on more dates and put myself out there more.

Go to bed at a more reasonable hour.

Update: I quit smoking, and it's going well so far. I still get cravings, but they're manageable. The exercise is also going well, and I'm slowly losing weight, which is wonderful. I finally contacted the SPCA via email, to enquire about volunteering, and they sent me an application form, so I got the ball rolling with that too. Super excited at this new "challenge". Can't wait!

I don't really like making new years resolutions because I think if you want to change, then you should try to change today instead of waiting for a specific day.

But something that I want to do differently in 2017 is to think more positive and have a more positive quality of life.
