    I don't celebrate Halloween. My family is evangelical. But I don't really like Halloween, despite I'm not very religious.

    I have never celebrate Christman, too :dry: and this make me feel a little sad...

    Carnival is actually a pagan festivity, it was the "Saturnali" that was the day of opposites (i.e: the patres serve the slaves) and they used to give gift each other. This festivity was very important in the ancient Rome, somebody (the grumpy Romans lol) dislike it and used to escape from the city, so the celebration were even intrusive.

    The Christianity can't erase this festivity, so they decided to "assimilate" it, they invented the Carnival as the party before the Lent (period of austerity and sacrifice), a day in which people can eat, drink and have fun.
    Christmas' date too has been decided to replace the pagan fesivity of the Winter soltice and some tradition of the Saturnali passed to Christmas (i.e: presents)
